It's Friday!! Let's eat out!

I love to eat out! Food is definitely another passion of mine. Hard thing about eating out is that it costs an arm and a leg these days. One of my favorite ways to eat out on a budget is restaurant.com. The decent restaurants are few and far between, but if you put in your zip code you are likely to find a gem or 2 near you! The way it works is you can purchase a $25 gift certificate for $10 or $50 for $25 and so on. There's a few options. There are also some restrictions, none that I have ever found to be super hindering, but restrictions nonetheless. For example, no using them on holidays, must spend a minimum amount (must spend $35 to use a $25 gc), may not be used towards alcohol or other beverages. Each restaurant is different so be sure to read thru the guidelines of the one you are choosing. Ok, so at this point you may be thinking "$25 for $10 and then I still gotta spend $10 and then tax and gratuity...can you tell me where the REAL deal is in this??" Why, yes I can! Before you checkout, open up another internet browser and google words like "restaurant.com coupon code 80". You will then get an abundant amount of websites offering you coupon codes to save 60, 70, or even 80% off your purchase. Let me break it down if you're not a math whiz. 80% off of $10 brings your $25 GC to grand total purchase price of $2! Woo! I live in Southern California and I have used these gift certificates at Lone Star Steakhouse, Alibi @ Dos Lagos, Citrus City Grill & Blackwood (now closed). We can go to Lone Star and have an awesome steak meal and get the kids kids meals for $35-$38, but we walk out of there spending less than $20!

Other tips for eating out:

-google coupons for your favorite restaurants. Example: I LOVE CHEVY'S! We never eat there without printing a coupon buy one combo and get one for $2.99 or $3.99. My husband and I just order two 4-item combos and there is more food than the 5 of us can finish! and our total bill is $16.

-Become fans of your favorite places on fb- Chick-Fil-A is awesome about getting the word out about free food they are giving away that day or all week long!

-Eat on kids eat free nights

If you have any other tips or ideas that have worked for you, please share! And if you try any of the above, let me know how it worked out for you!
